"Um..." you venture out softly. "Margaret?"
No response; for once, she's not focused on you. Instead, she's typing furiously. It looks as though she's gotten into a groove, and she's forgotten about you sitting in her extra chair.
You clear your throat.
She pauses---in what looks like mid-word---and turns to look at you.
"Yes, Miss Boudreau?"
"Anna, please," you correct her. She nods, and you continue, "Look, it's getting pretty late, and it's been a while. I really don't mind rescheduling this for tomorrow morning."
She pauses again, clearly deep in thought. After a moment, she tilts her head and gives in. "Okay. But it has to be early, because you need to get settled---"
"Mr. McGarry hasn't given me the job yet," you remind her with a polite smile. "What time should I come in?"
"Seven would be perfect," Margaret says without missing a beat. "That way you can join up with the Senior Staff meeting at seven-fifteen."
"He's only going to want to meet with me for fifteen minutes?"
The redhead nods. "We don't like to waste time."
"Oh," you say. "Well... alright then."
"Right. Now... would you like me to show you out?"
Do you ask Margaret for help finding the exit?
Do you tell Margaret you remember the way?
